Supervision in counseling is an indispensable component of the profession. It fosters the growth and development of counselors while ensuring that clients receive high-quality, ethical, and effective care. This dual focus on professional development and client welfare makes supervision a cornerstone of the counseling field.
Most counsellors require ongoing supervision or training to maintain their standing with their licencing board. Many Canadian provinces are moving towards provincial regulatory boards which will require supervision for all counsellors as part of the criteria for entry and to maintain good standing.

Melody Hazelton is a Counselling Therapist (#1055) with the Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta (ACTA), Master Therapeutic Counsellor & Registered Counselling Supervisor (MTC #2503) with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada (ACCT) and a . Melody taught all three levels of counselling psychology for the Practitioners Training Program offered by Clearmind International Institute. Melody is a Certified Health & Wellness Coach, Positive Discipline Educator, and Keeping The Joy in Relationships Facilitator. Her main areas of expertise are trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, relationships, marriage, postpartum, and parenting.

Melody’s Approach and Treatment Philosophy I believe that with the right support, we can become more centered, resourceful, balanced, and confident. We can improve our ability to be more accountable for our lives, our choices, and our relationships. We can build the skills and tools needed to help us focus our energy and time on what truly matters, including ourselves. We can have the freedom to choose how we want to be in the world and it can authentically come from a place of vitality, wisdom, and generosity of spirit. I practice from an anti-oppression, justice-oriented, feminist, and relational perspective. I draw on my own personal experience, my background in teaching, and my professional training. I believe in a holistic approach to counselling, drawing on several perspectives based on the individual needs of my clients. My intention is to provide a safe space and emotional support as you move toward your own personal growth and healing. Josh’s Approach and Treatment Philosophy: I believe in true connection with my clients, and I use an approach that is centered on relationship.
